and decision.
Visits
to the specialist or ophthalmologist surgeon are necessary, in order to evaluate
the individual ocular parameters and to give the future patient an idea of his
own level of post-operative correction: in other words, will myopia be totally
suppressed or what will the myopia residual be after the operation ?
Topography
: estimation of the corneal elevation by contour lines of the anterior part
of the cornea; in this case, an important astigmatism.
This exam evaluates :
- The visual acuity
- The amount of refractive error (myopia or hyperopia rate, presence of
astigmatism or presbyopia rate)
- The cornea
- curvatures
- contour lines
- thickness
- the quality of the different layers
- The crystalline lens: transparency and position
- The vitreous body
- The retina: search for a predisposition to retinal detachment

Topography
